Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin Biography

Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska. She was born on February 11, 1964 to parents Sarah and Charles Heath. When she was young her family moved from Idaho to Alaska. Palin grew up in Wasilla, Alaska, and met her future husband, Todd Palin, at Wasilla High School.

She graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in journalism and a minor in political science.

She married Todd Palin in 1988. Her and Todd have five children; sons Track and Trig, and daughters Bristol, Willow, and Piper.

Sarah Palin Election Information

In 1992 and 1995, Palin won election to the Wasilla City Council.  In 1996 she was elected Mayor of Wasilla.  She served two three-year terms and was term limited from serving more.

In 2002, she came in second in a five-way Republican primary for Lieutenant Governor of Alaska.

In 2006, she was elected Governor of Alaska.  She defeated former governor Tony Knowles.
